I'm feeling this song from Marsha Ambrosius' (fomerly of Floetry) new cd,"Neo-Soul is Dead". Is that my baby Trey Songz jumping in @ 1:40?
How Bubblegum! Be surprised, and give a listen to Bobby Valentino's new CD out a few weeks ago. I'd give his cd a C+, only becuase I almost heard a little Anthony Hamilton-like soul peaking. I was up last night jamming to say the least. He's got this gospel-soul song called "Give me Your Heart". Check it: I love the way he says 'heart'. He needs to put out a gospel album.
Zane's Sex Chronicles You have no business sleeping while this late night adult drama is on. I caught Part 4 last night. There was a badass Asian chick, Capone (comedian from Def Comedy Jam), and Buddha (from I love New York) on that episode. The women of the show are bringing grown and sexy to the screen in a way that I have never seen. The sex scenes are great, they are not playing with the intense intamacy. And there is more than enough dialogue to keep a woman completely interested. Friday night's at midnight is the schedule, but I caught it at 2am, so check your listings. You can skip all that mess and check it on Cinemax on Demand. In this scene Tarriq walks in on Ana Marie having sex with Jamal: I know, ready to catch the whole thing! Click here for a clip of Ezra Masters (Buddha) doing his thing in Zane's Sex Chronicles.

Lost focus The Lenten season began yesterday, and despite the warm feeling I had after the Eucharist, I am feeling ready to snap rightaboutnow. Folks better stay far from my way today if they know what's good. Be careful who you surround yourself with. You think some people are fine, but inside they are filled up with greed, envy, hate, self indulgence, and self righteousness. Pray for me, so that I don't act out in impatience.
Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change. Malcolm X

Solange suffers an adverse reaction to Nyquil Yeah right. on Tuesday, Feb. 17th, Solange claims she took a Nyquil Cold gel-tablet, then Twittered about her experience:
"I took a nyquil and i think maybe im getting high off it because im not sleeping. maybe i should close my eyes..." Minutes later she added, "think im certified loosing (sic) it on nyquil. going to sleep before i start freestyling on the plane... omg (Oh my God) i didnt know nyquil could do this to you. i took the pills tho. cant stomach cough syrup. trying to be proactive on this flight." She then added: "Never taking nyquil again. I feel so weird."
Solange is my girl, I love her style sense, her smart mouth, and her don't-give-a-crap attitude. But the ChampagneChronicNightcap, the ADD diagnosis, the Nip Slips, and passing out at the airport from adverse reactions from medication? You're getting some serious side-eye from me. Get your act together girl, those drug associations are not cute. source

Orchard Park police are investigating a particularly gruesome killing, the beheading of a woman, after her husband — an influential member of the local Muslim community — reported her death to police Thursday. Police identified the victim as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37. Detectives have charged her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, with second-degree murder. "He came to the police station at 6:20 p.m. [Thursday] and told us that she was dead," Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz said late this morning. Muzzammil Hassan told police that his wife was at his business, Bridges TV, on Thorn Avenue in the village. Officers went to that location and discovered her body. Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light. The killing apparently occurred some time late Thursday afternoon. Detectives still are looking for the murder weapon. "Obviously, this is the worst form of domestic violence possible," Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III said today. Authorities say Aasiya Hassan recently had filed for divorce from her husband. "She had an order of protection that had him out of the home as of Friday the 6th [of February]," Benz said. Muzzammil Hassan was arraigned before Village Justice Deborah Chimes and sent to the Erie County Holding Center. source

Rihanna has Officially Dumped Chris Brown! This fool Rihanna actually thinks that she has had to dump Chris Brown! When the real story drops I'll be glad to report that the reason that they were fighting is becuase Chris was ready to end the relationship with Rihanna. From the pictures taken ealier in the day at Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Party, it was evident that she was antagonizing him, that he would have preffered to be anywhere else than with Rihanna, and that he was totally ignoring her. Doesn't his face read: 'itch get off me?'

For Lovers Only Valentine's Day is not a time for evaluation of your lovers affection towards you throughout the year, or a time to sulk becuase your fantasy valentines day won't come true. Just go with the flow.........tell your lover that you love them, tell them you want to have sex, tell them how sexy they are to you. Have something sexy you can slip into, make sure your tresses smell great, get your nails and toes together. wear a previous gift from the person, and of all be happy. Give the gift of self. Forget the reasons to argue, forget finances, forget anything that might interfere with pampering, carressing, seducing, and romancing your lover. Think only of that person. Thank goodness that the economy is bad........buying all that cheap junk that lasts no more than 7 days never made sense antyways. Buy some things to enhance the intimacy, i.e. massage oils, lubricants, music. Chocolates and flowers are okay, but this is 2009 not 1965, make me a V-Day CD, or blog about me, sex-text with me, video diary about how much you love me. But when the sun sets - get the kiddies to bed and let talk about lovin'. To break it down......(and be discreet at the same time)...I need to have a good meal, some entertainment, good conversation, good lovin', and something sweet to eat. Spoke Too Soon! I would like to recant some of the statements I made yesterday concerning Etta James and Beyonce. Like Will Smith in Wild Wild West "I Shoot Now, Shoot some more. and then after everybody is dead I decide to ask a question or two", I spoke too soon. A few days ago a notable read was passed my way (by a someone we'll call DJ Smokie) about Beyonce being the devil. If you haven't read it please do so now: Beyonce is the Devil Although I had read it, I hadn't done my research and I think my mind was changed this morning as I began researching a few of the points The LatterDays Blog made. So bump my last entry about Solange ripping Etta a new hole. I was wrong. Etta should have hauled her whole band behind Barack and Michelle to sing her song. Simply said - taking what is not yours is wrong. Don't get it twisted - I'm not a member of 'Team Etta' either. She still said some very inexcusable things about our President Barack Obama (his ears, and him not being her president). I still meant what I said about Etta needing to be happy, and that if she could have wrote Cadilac Records, starred in, produced, edited, and turn it into a musical she would! It's no longer about pride, not even sure if its about doing the right thing - It's about the Beyonce being the Devil, and is why I'm not going to read her too much, because I don't need the Devil riding me all day and night. I'll just provide the links to a few places one might look if they needed a little convincing. The root of the name Sasha, Who Sekhmet was, the left eye of Horus (or the all seeing eye), the doublemindedness, etc.....were all worthy of a second look. I was convinced, and now I'm mad! Oh how I enjoyed watching and dancing to her videos! How I enjoyed the music! Its all over now, because I don't fool with the Devil.

Ain't fittin' to bust a grape! In Response to the circus concerning Etta James' rant about Beyonce singing "At Last" at the Presidential Inauguration Neighborhood Ball - I can't help but roll my eyes. After all the years that Etta has under her belt she needs to show more class, but I do remember an interview she had after viewing Beyonce portraying herself that Beyonce just didn't have the girth to play her. And I finally knew exactly what James meant when I saw Bey trying to cuss, lol! Hilarity Indeed! I liked the song, really I did, but at this point I really would like to see Beyonce sing it. Although James does have a point....She says that she first met Beyonce on the Red Carpet at the opening, not before. Which I found to be odd since most serious actors really try to get into character by researching their role. If Beyonce had met James, she would have realized she had to play a spitting cussing smack talking hole in the wall classless loudmouth and not the sexxy sauntering switching sex kitten she thought was Etta James. This whole situation has to do with pride. If she could have, Etta would have played herself at all age levels, wrote the movie, done the sex scenes, and directed it as well. We all know Beyonce didn't pull off the rip roaring cougar that is Etta James, so why publicize it? Why not be happy? Happy of the acclaim you once received, the popularity of your song, and that it is still relavant after all these years? Instead James continues to drag that ol' dead horse out and beat it some more. Po' horse. Etta we all respect you for your beautiful music, but Fall Back Honey 'fore Solange tears you a new hole. Oh, and were you upset that Obama chose 'Beyonce the Great' over you? Not belittling your status, but I'm sure there were more relavant performers above you on the list. Like ummh? Natalie Cole, Dionne Warwick, Mary Wilson, Etc.. I'd be glad if I could get just one comment on this blog, but if someone steals my words and gets credit.....THEY ARE MY WORDS! Who cares. But in the spirit of Fairness The Spin of the day will be:

Lisa Ray and her Mess Just to recap and bring us all to speed, this is Lisa Ray, actress, model, stripper (okay not a stripper, but she played that part). She's a beautiful girl, but I'm just not her #1 fan. There's no reason to bore anyone with any sordid details, but in a nutshell - I think she's greedy and mishandling her beauty and talent. My first time seeing her was Player's Club playing 'Diamond', a single mother struggling as a dancer to make it through college to become a journalist. I thought the best parts of the movie included Ronnie, Bernie Mac, Jamie Foxxx and Ezel. Lisa Raye, to me, lacked personality and believability in every acting role she received, I.e. All of Us. I was blown away when I heard she was marrying the Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands a few years ago, seemed all too Cinderella - not enough 'gold digger'. But I wasn't surprised to see her responding to her husbands rape accusations. So as it turns out he cheated on her numerous times, had 2 children with another woman (yes, during their marriage), and is currently standing trial with charges of Government Corruption. You can read all about it here. Antywayz, chick is a mess. I read somewhere that her father was pretty well-off and she grew up nicely, that she didn't have to shuck and scuffle and the strip for dance - definitely not ghetto. Year Right! I'm on neither side. Both are guilty of working the hustle to the very last drop. I'm ashamed for both of them, running around pretending all is good while real travesties are happening all around the world. They could have used that platform to say something positive, to do some real good to the world. If she ever gets another shot at making a lasting impression, I hope she will use it well and not come sliding down a pole, ride up in a phantom with a corrupt man. Lastly............
