Pull your pants up

Old men try to bring wisdom but get caught up along the way. To be critical - you must be upright. Not on the floor breakdancing or saying '71 years young'. Just be right.

Children learn more from your actions than some silly song about your back pockets on the floor or pants on the ground. Just be upright.

It's real out here. People, young and old, are dealing with drug dependencies, poverty, joblessness, inner temptations, abuse, eternally 1 check from being on the streets. This song, nor any other like it will manage to seep into the spirit of a person and change them. The songs, both songs, are comedy at best. Those old men need to take a seat before someone slips a disc or breaks a hip. If you're looking to relate - just be right - connect - encourage - advise, but never ever EVER try to rap.

Mecca Diaries

Hajj is the world’s largest annual pilgrimage that takes place in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Last year VICE Founder Suroosh Alvi went with his family and shot footage with an old Handicam. His intention was never to make a VBS doc out of it, but lo and behold here it is…shaky camerawork and all. November 27, 2009 is the Eid celebration for the Muslim world and also marks the end of this year’s Hajj.

Pray for Haiti

TESTAMAN

Lè m’mouri, fè bèl vèy pou mwen

M’pa pral ni nan paradi ni nan lanfè
Pînga pè pale laten nan tèt mwen.

Lè m’mouri, antere mwen nan lakou-a
Rasanble tout zanmi-m fè bèl fèt
Pînga pase legliz ak kadav mwen

Lè m’mouri, se pou tout moun byen ge
Ri, chante, danse, bay blag
Pînga kriye, rele nan zòrèy mwen

Lè m’mouri, m’pa p’fin ale nèt
Tout kote k’ganyen bèl banbòch
Kote nèg lib, fò yo nonmen non mwen

TESTAMENT
When I die, make me a beautiful wake
I’m going neither to paradise nor to hell
Don’t let a priest speak latin to my head

When I die, bury me in the yard
Gather all my friends, make a big feast
Don’t go past the church with my corpse

When I die, everyone should really get happy
Laugh, sing, dance, tell jokes
Don’t bawl, yell into my ear

I won’t be completely done when I’m dead
All the places where there were great bashes,
Where people are free—they’ll remember me

What I'm Listening to........

Just News.....

Keyshia Cole, who just a year or so ago was near stalking Jeezy, is not only big and pregnant - near delivery - responds to Frankie's confirmation that Keyshia is married.......check on it.

Pep from Salt and Peppa states that she hasn't had sex in more than 4 years. So? Not having the pipe laid right doesn't make you right. Sex is a good start, but work on maturing. You still seem so childish.

T-Boz of TLC is accused of being lesbian. She respons by saying she isn't, that she was only working it.

Mary J. and Kendu were all coupled up the Lakers game the other night, despite their recent 'issue' that popped off at Mary's album release a few weeks ago.

Slore claims Tiger Woods is into men as well.

Chris Henry's woman claims he jumped out of the car. I garauntee he was through and couldn't wait to get out. I'm sure he thought he could make it through with some scrapes and bruises, but in this case the woman lives to tell a lie and his story will never be heard.

Kelly Rowland is working on a new album. Won't Kelly go play in the street................

What I'm Listenting to....Keke Wyatt

R&B singer Keke Wyatt is back on the scene with a video for "Who Knew?" the first single off her upcoming album of the same name, due February 23. Click below for download.

Mariah versus Beyonce

You know Mariah Carey never crosses my mind - ever - yes, just that insignificant. In honesty, she had some hot singles, but her music is really so bubble gum sugary pop rock imatureness at it's most average. Alongside the fact that I grade musical artists on the reality and depth of their lyrics and emotion. Well, Mariah - a 40 plus year old cougar - who wants to only be remembered as 30, made the news today. She accepted an award for her role in Precious drunk- which I must reveal was not that good now that I have seen it a few times, and read the book. The story was painted wonderfully in the book but the director chose to make a bigger emphasis on the mother and the teacher of Precious' school rather than drive deeper within the thoughts and narration that precious could have offered similar to the book.

My husband cares for dialogue, loves it really - he likes movies like Inglourious Bastards, She's gotta have it, Pulp Fiction. Dialogue is important - but for me I prefer extreme intensity by way of emotion, visual strength, and realism. Example - What dreams May Come.

I typed all that so you might understand what I look for in movies - why I might say that Precious wasn't all that, and Mariah Carey, to me, didn't add any value to the movie.

At the house my husband, Iand some friends got into a Mariah vs Beyonce debate over who was the better artist. The ladies defending Bey, and the Men defending Mariah. The men hooped and hollered Mariah is so fine and classy, that Beyonce was too freaky and nasty - that she couldn't sing, couldn't act. The ladies responded with Bey is so fine, she can dance, she can too act, AND she's in her prime. The men won anyway becuase they would prefer Mariah in bed somehow (probably because she's mixed). We did agree on one thing though; where one doesn't have a personality, the other is ditsy spacy, and lost in fantasy land. I'm sure you can figure out who's who.

Walking away feeling the sting of defeat - I decided to prove my point here.

As I see it:
Beyonce can sing, Mariah can sing.
Beyonce looks better than Mariah now, and will look better than Mariah when she reaches 40.
Beyonce is young and married to Jay-Z, Mariah doesn't want to grow old (40 on March 27th) and married to Nick Cannon, in his twenties.
Beyonce consistently pushes out mind blowing dance hits, Mariah not really as intense and serious and Bey.

Beyonce can really dance, really. Did you know Mariah couldn't dance? Mmph! click.
Beyonce's face beats out Mariah's.
Beyonce has made one smart descision after another since, well forever. Mariah had a mental breakdown and, to me, has never grown into a woman - like a teenager.
Beyonce's perfume 'Heat' will be on my neck. You can get a full bottle of Mariah's M on ebay for around $14.
Bey has the House of Dereon clothing line, Mimi has her butterflies and baseball caps.
Beyonce is a fashionista, from the handbags to the red carpet, while Mimi wears her clear hooker heels with the one-shoudered black dress everywhere including bed.
Beyonce has never been photo'd in the nude. Mariah posed for Playboy.
No one has ever called out Bey as a hoe, Mariah has.

I'm not tripping, really I'm not. I just wanted to put em up against each other because Beyonce is murdering lames like Mariah. A good voice and willingness to get naked is not all that is required of stars nowadays. You must amass talent, drive, fashion, business sense, physical ability, and passion to get near the top. Beyonce will remain on her throne until and after Mariah is retired.

Birds in Wintertime..........

In Texas, we're sure it's winter when the birds appear. They line every powerline and cover all the trees - simply beautiful.

Texas memory

Life Goes on............

If you thought that Rihanna might have any residual feelings for Chris Brown - You're wrong. Rihanna was spotted boo'ed up with LA Dodger Matt Kemp. And Chris found a skeez to slide some oil to him. Not really - looks honest enough to me - probably business - but still suspicious. Rhea, the pictured chick, is the newest member of N.E.R.D. Click here to hear her pipes - which I'm sure are now aptly lubricated.

Not only have they both moved on, but by body language interpretation - Chris is the only one masking hurt. I'm sure Rihanna flenches when a man moves his hands, but Chris is different now - like dark vibe different.

I always liked his personality, so young and cool kiddishly confident. He'd get play from the ladies for simply appearing safe. Now - that safe feeling is gone, long gone - I guess he has to play up the player role.

Nothing positive that can be taken away from being seen leaving a hotel with Chris Brown as he strolls infront of cameras with stacks of cash in his hand and falling out of his pockets. Maybe ol' girl was looking down as to navigate through the crowd - but I'm sure she was feeling embarressed.

Does Chris' immediate future hold for him tricking and sleeping around? hope not.

As for Rihanna.......Well, appearance speaks for itself. She looks happy to be young and dating. Doesn't look like love - just fun. Go girl.
