China Girl Soup

It's crazy. So, like everyone has heard of before - there as been a One Child Policy in China for the last 30 years. Obviously for many couple they'd prefer to have a boy - to carry on the family name, to take care of them in their old age. I agree with attempting to control the population of an out-of-control population, but the policy should be two children. That way, each couple could have a boy to carry on the family name and a girl to take care of them as they age, or two boys for family name, whatever - as it stands, families are aborting after the sex can be determined.
I can't fathom the morning sickness, telling everyone 'we have a baby on the way' to find out it's a girl and having to abort it. I am very pro-choice. Every woman should be responsible with respect to reproduction, but if still you become pregnant and the situation isn't right in which to raise your child that there are alternatives to turn to. This is off point but I just wanted to share that.
So yeah, the Chinese have several abortion clinics in ever small town and hundreds in the cities. They have stiff penalties for those that have a second child and even force sterilization of the women RIGHT after they have given birth. Thank God for America.
I just think they are devaluing women and forcing children to grow up spoiled, not grasping how to share, how to think freely. I'd move....just to feel freedom as it should be.
Another thing. Did you know that the aborted girls can be sold as food - get quite a pretty penny for her as well. The cook will prepare her with vegetables and serve her up in a pretty bowl for a patron to eat. Seriously. In China you can get soup with a little aborted girl in it. Go search for yourself, can't stomach that again. But I read some later claims that it was hoax - that it never did happen. Pictures can be airbrushed, but how can you airbrush a little boiled fetus into some soup with herbs and vegetables around her? Someone ate her.
I say they need to get rid of the policy altogether.
