'09 BET Awards
Keri Hilson
I started off liking this performance, though it took a turn for the worse near the 3:22 mark where she started singing a capella. WTF moment of the night indeed! How terrible. Despite the wardrobe choice and the Elvis Presley dancing, I still love that put her all into an energetic show. Kudos and light tapps on the shoulder.
Keyshia Cole & Monica - Trust
Perfect performance. I loved Keyshia's outfit and hair, but I simply hate monica's style - so villainish. I need her to be a real woman, but the voice far surpassed Keyshia's for sure. Monica's return to music will be a welcomed one. Best performance of the night except for..................
Ne-yo hogging all the talent, lol!
This is how you put it down. Neo knew his best move was to bring that dancer on stage, she is awsome. Who is she?
I can't remember much else. Beyonce, Tevin, Ciara, among others were all trash last night. Everything else was so mediocre, yes everything. The Levert rendition by Tyrese, Johnnie, and Trey was mild at best. The body language and eye contact was horrible, and then Johnnie was trying to be the lead.............just horrible. And what was up with the sound and bleeping last night? Folks were cussing, Jamie couldn't tell when they were on..... it was a freakin' mess. Only other thing totally right was Janet..........banger for life.

Lifehouse Everything Skit
Many are calling the "Lifehouse Everything Skit" a phenomena, but it is so much more than that, as more and more continue to fall in love with Jesus or revive their relationship with Him after watching it.
The skit was originally performed at the 2006 Smoky Mountain Winterfest in Knoxville, Tenn. It packed 30,000 into the Tennessee Volunteers' Thompson-Boling arena each night, and has deeply impacted God's Kingdom ever since.
In a society caught up with Oscars and Golden Globes, those involved in the production of the "Everything Skit" received a much greater reward than any golden figurine could ever deliver -- witnessing changed lives.
The drama focuses on the spiritual warfare being fought for our souls.
At the beginning of the skit, the young woman indulges in the pure joy and innocence of finding her first love in Jesus, as He shows her all the wonderful things He has done and has in store for her.
But this blissful moment becomes tarnished by seemingly harmless distractions, which turn into temptations and ultimately into deadly sins.
The fallen spiritual forces at work begin their relentless attack on the young woman, who takes her eyes off Jesus and sets them on the world. click for more.

Iranian Sham Election
Not sure if you or anyone is following the conflicts going on in Asia right now, but Iran's election is being boycotted becuase the citizens believe the president is merely a puppet for their religeous Supreme Leader. Click here for for information.
The mullahs’ Supreme Leader controls all the levers of power within the clerical regime, and the president is simply a puppet. In accordance with Article 110 of the regime’s constitution, the Supreme Leader formulates the regime’s policies, and is responsible for appointing senior commanders of the military, police and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as the highest judicial authorities, the head of the state-run radio and TV, and the clerics of the Guardian Council. The Guardian Council, according to Articles 93 and 99 of the constitution, monitors all elections and vets all candidates. Election laws stipulate that all elected officials must “be spiritually devoted to the Supreme Leader and obligated to him in practice.”National Council of Resistance of Iran - Foreign Affairs Committee Tuesday, 12 May 2009

Gardens of the Night directed by Damian Harris
Synopsis:
An 8-year-old girl is taken from her home and convinced that her family does not want her anymore. After enduring 9 years of horror, she and her fellow victim are dumped by their captures. Now, 17 years old and no one to turn to, except each other they do their best to survive life on the streets, until one day she finally accepts the help of a shelter counselor to find her way home. However, what she truly finds is the love of her life and that you can never go back. "Gardens of the Night", is a haunting, gritty and topical story which delves deep into the world of child abduction and where it often leads...for the "lucky ones." The writer/director, Damian Harris bases his story on the kids, counselors, cops and pimps he met during two years of research.
My take:
The subject of abduction & molestation is a hard truth. Attention is the key to prevention and education is the key. Support the AmberWatch Foundation whose mission it to provide education and tools to parents and children on how to stay safe from abduction and molestation. Movies like this help drive home the importance of this mission. Applaud the film makers and actors in this film! The performances are so real, this is what happens. Seeing the affect on the victims is compelling and true - if only the victims had known how to avoid abduction this would not have happened. It shows how many lives are touched and changed forever by one single act. I encourage everyone to see this movie and take advantage of any preventative tool you can get to safeguard your loved ones from a similar fate.

Usher and his new Side-Piece

For months the rumor mill said that Usher and Tameka were going downhill since her near death experience and surgery slip in Brazil. Well, Tameka and her crazy antics may have driven “Ersher” into the arms of this lady up top. The mystery lady and Usher were seen going in and out of Usher’s Santa Monica Hotel…at one in the morning last night too. There is nothing to explain or excuse Usher for bringing a pretty girl into his hotel room so late at night.

Divorce

Wolffe writes that Michelle Obama “hated the failed race for Congress in 2000, and their marriage was strained by the time their youngest daughter, Sasha, was born a year later.” “There was little conversation and even less romance,” Wolffe writes. “She was angry at his selfishness and careerism; he thought she was cold and ungrateful.” When Obama ran for the Senate in 2004, his wife still had mixed feelings about her husband’s love of politics, and played no part in the campaign, the book says. By the time Obama decided to run for president, the couple’s two children were older and Michelle Obama was more supportive. “We’re going to be fine,” the book quotes her as saying. “We just have to make sure the girls are fine. We’re strong enough to take anything on and be OK at the end.”source In the spirit of rectification (lol good word), Akon gives it to us straight in his new single, 'Be with You'(Click to listen or download). He talks about hanging in there despite how you've hurt one another, how people don't know what you go through - but still moving on. I love my husband and we go through too. Honestly I look at my grandparents and see how they made it, 52 years in august, and without doubt I am sure I'm up for the ride, which is full of sharing everything, children, finances, sex, health, cooking, job changes, etc., family problems, struggles. I just pray for strength, grace, vision, and thank God for hope and sense to not give up. Hang in there.
